2. Korkkitehdas Beach + Saunaranta Park

On the shore of Lake Saimaa
The Korkkitehdas Beach located at the bottom of the Fazer confectionery factory, offers amazing views over Lake Saimaa. Besides sunbathing, you can also have a beach picnic on lawn. By walking on the breakwater of the beach, you can enjoy a unique view of both the lake and the land. There are also outdoor excercise facilities in the Korkkitehdas Beach.
A beach route that starts from the Skinnarila Campus goes via Korkkitehdas Beach towards the boroughs of Rakuunamäki and Tyysterniemi.
There are various benches along the route, so it is possible to sit down and enjoy the cooling breeze of air on a warm summer day. The beach route ends to Saunaranta’s boulderfield wetland park, where in addition to the benches, there is also an outdoor table set. You can get from the Saunaranta Park to the center via the roundabout.

You can get to the Korkkitehdas Beach and Saunaranta Park by exiting Marssitie downwards near the confectionery factory.
