• The fox is common all over the world.
• There are 12 species of foxes. The most common and widespread species of fox is the red fox, which once was a very valuable fur animal. Foxes are dog animals.
• The wild foxes live up to 2-5 years.
• The weight of the fox is 2,2-14kg.
• The height of the fox is 35-50 cm and the length is 60-85 cm.
• In Finland, the old name of the fox was repo.
• There are also some foxes living in North Africa.
• The fox is an omnivorous animal. The fox's diet consists mostly of small rodents, but it is also suitable for insects, plants and carcasses.
• The main enemies of the fox are the big beasts, wolves and lynx.
• In the early 20th century, foxes were catched because of their valuable fur.
• The fox reaches sexual maturity at about 10 months of age. Foxes mate in January-March and cubs are born in March- May.
