On this site, we gather every month a sortiment of happenings in the Lappeenranta area for you to get excited about and take part in!

Events in December

  • SAT 6th at 12 noon Finnish Independence Day celebration at the City Hall 
  • SAT 13th at 7 am to 2 pm Seasonal Market at the Market square 
  • SAT 13th and SUN 14th at 9 am to 3 pm Christmas Market at the Fortress Katariina' s square
  • TUE 16th at 10 am to 6 pm Traditional Christmas Market at the Market Square (The Christmas Market is open 16th to 22nd of December, Mon-Fri 10-18 and Sat-Sun 10-16)  
  • WED 17th at 5 pm SaiPa’s Christmas porridge charity event at Market square
  • WED 31st at 8 pm and at midnight New Year’s Eve Celebrations, fireworks and disco at the Lappeenranta harbour!

Museums:

  • FRI 5th at 11 am to 5 pm Museum Friday, free entrance to the Lappeenranta Art Museum, South Karelia Museum and Cavalry Museum at the Fortress.  Visit the Wolkoff´s Christmas shop and Wolkoff House Museum (Kauppakatu 26) More info about the museums of Lappeenranta: visitlappeenranta.fi/museums

  • SUN 14th at 6pm The most beautiful Christmas songs at the Lappee Church of St. Mary 
  • WED 17th at 6 pm Christmas concert, Lappeenranta City Orchestra www.lprorkesteri.fi/en
  • SUN 21st at 6 pm The most beautiful Christmas songs at the Lappeenranta Church

  • Icehockey: Liiga Saipa – local icehockey team’s upcoming matches (Kisapuisto Ice stadium) 
    This year's last game FRI 26th at 6.30 PM Ice hockey game SAIPA – KALPA
