Lappeenranta is a shopping city. Shopping centres and boutiques can be found in the city centre and supermarkets and outlets are available in nearby areas. Handicrafts and local designs are available in the small boutiques in the city centre and in Old Town and at the Fortress. For gourmands, a visit to Market Square and the many bakery-cafés is a must.
