The South Karelia Museum and the Lappeenranta Art Museum are both found at the Fortress. When in Lappeenranta, it is well worth seeing the South Karelia Museum’s permanent exhibition, On the Border – Three Karelian Towns, which features a model of the city of Vyborg that was once a part of Finland. Our museum is complemented by the Wolkoff House Museum and the summer-season favourites - the Cavalry Museum that exhibits the history of the dragoons and the Saimaa Canal Museum.
