1. University + Tervahauta Park and Swäbisch Hall Park

A forest trip in an academic environment.
Lappeenranta is an international university city, and its University of Technology is located near Lake Saimaa’s shore, surrounded by beautiful nature. Besides the university, also the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences is located in the Skinnarila Campus area.
Even though mostly students can be seen around the Campus area, it pays off for other visitors as well to exhibit the area, especially because of the outdoor possibilities.
The Tervahauta Park area near the university is designed for citizens’ use. It is especially suitable for a summer picnic, since there are also barbeque spots in the park.

The Green Campus -atmosphere of sustainable energy solutions can also be seen in the Swäbisch Hall Park, where wind is spinning a small, green wind turbine. The park’s lawn area with a Saimaa view is excellent for a summer day.

Besides Skinnarilankatu, you can also get from the Campus area to the center via a beach route that starts from the University. The route goes through Sammonlahti, Huhtiniemi and Korkkitehdas beaches.
